I love the North Country. I really do. And I love how some things never change. I honestly love how after three years away, I can pick up a North Country This Week or visit NorthCountryNow.com and read the Letters and Sound Offs and feel like I never left: the noise of motorcycles; whether Mr. Robar should get rid of his protest-art (though the decor changes: cornfield, more/less toilets, new paint, etc); whether the signs for “55 on Rt. 11” mean “maximum limit” or “recommended average speed”; reminders to slow down on Parishville-Potsdam Road; whether or not to burn trash; the ethics of hunting; and I could go on. But I won’t, only to say, I missed you guys! It’s nice to live in a place where we can be heard (not many places have Sound Offs) and where the big, recurring issues are akin to this.
