I would like to take a moment to express my disappointment and disgust with our local journalists. Last night, I was watching the “North Country’s Finest” news program, with the headline news story surrounding the murder investigation of Jason Wing. Both NorthCountryNow.com and WWNY-tv touted that they had obtained transcripts of a recorded conversation between the alleged murderer and another man. I would have been fine just knowing that the transcripts existed. But, (WWNY-tv reporter John) Friot deemed it necessary to detail how the alleged murderer planned on disposing Mr. Wing’s body. I find it distasteful, and disrespectful to Mr. Wing’s family, the deceased, and your viewers that your news team decided to report at this level of detail. I believe that there needs to be more discretion used when reporting information of this sensitivity. Please remember that every person is someone’s; son, daughter, brother, sister, mother or father and treat any family of a deceased member of our small community with the respect and dignity they deserve.
