I've got to say, as a friend and coworker of the family that lost their house yesterday to a house fire, I find your survey very unfeeling towards their struggles right now. Given that the fire was in the mid morning hours, you really don't even know if smoke alarms would have helped. I'm not saying that people shouldn't use smoke alarms and that they are a great safety device, but do you really think that using this as your survey question is appropriate given what this family is going through - kind of like blaming the victim here, isn't it? They are a beloved family in our community and we will help them weather this storm, but they certainly don't need their "hometown" website making a big deal about it. I'm really disappointed in you.
