Senator Patty Ritchie has this petition sign up on property tax relief. It sounds good in its simplicity. Unless there is accompanying tax reform in New York State this measure will further cripple our public schools. There needs to be a fairer source of income for schools and part of that reform means that the income tax structure as currently devised favors the well to do. They simply don’t pay their fair share. Senators Griffo, Ritchie and Assemblyman Blankenbush did not support the true reform needed. They, along with the governor, are accomplishing the demise of public education in this state. There needs to be no property tax reform without complete tax reform. Demand it.
