I've seen two pictures on NorthCountryNow.com of people feeding deer. What is going on? Where is Department of Environmental Conservation? What is wrong with people? I thought it was illegal to feed deer. And even if it isn't, use some common sense. A deer is a wild animal. It could carry any number of diseases or parasites, not the least of which could be rabies and deer ticks, you know, the ones that carry Lyme disease. And even if it doesn't, you aren't doing it any favors making it so comfortable around people. It won't be able to fend for itself come winter or it will get hit by a car or chased by somebody's dog. Wake up people and leave the deer alone. Call the DEC and report it.
