Cut N-N middle school

It’s not fair to attack public education. Focus should be on the boards of education who allow the monetary waste that is being committed in the name of “improving and creating quality education.” I can tell you that one huge area of waste is the Norwood-Norfolk Middle School. In the past, there were more students and we had two elementary buildings and one high school. With fewer students, we now have one building with a pre-kindergarten to grade four elementary wing, a grades five to eight wing and a grades nine to 12 high school. A superintendent, three principals and a CSE administrator (five administrators). What is the board thinking? Cut the middle school and save $100,000. Cut an administrator and their staff and save $150,000. With a million dollar deficit being faced, no improvement in student achievement, why is the board protecting a “sacred cow” like the middle school?
