Virginia A. Rivers, 88, formerly of Ogdensburg

Funeral services for Virginia A. Rivers, 88, of Zephyr Hills, Fla., and formerly of Ogdensburg will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Eel Weir. 

There will be no calling hours.

Mrs. Rivers passed away on Monday (Aug 16, 2010) in Zephyr Hills, Fla.

Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Surviving are two sons Frederick & Robert Rivers and two grandchildren Christopher & Nicole.

Her husband Andrew Rivers and a sister Margaret Ducatte predeceased her.

Virginia was born on February 24, 1922 in Pierrepont, NY a daughter of Bertram & Viola (Gibson) Todd.

She graduated from Canton High School in 1941 and married Andrew Rivers on October 9, 1942 at the Canton Methodist Parsonage with Rev. Dobie officiating.

During her working career she worked at Goldstone Dry Cleaners, Newberry's Department Store, Quick-Rite Cleaners and was a seamstress for Randall’s Manufacturing.

She then became employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Psychiatric Aide for 13 years and retired in 1978.
