GOUVERNEUR – Mickael Alice Nichols and Jason Raymond Hays, both of Gouverneur, were married at 2 p.m. June 5 at the United Methodist Church, Gouverneur, with Rev. Fran Hemstreet officiating.
An outdoor reception was held at the Tyler Family camp with Mission Music DJs providing the music.
The bride’s parents are Michael and Tonya Nichols of Gouverneur.
The groom’s parents are Joseph Sr. and Joanne Hays of Macomb.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her mother gave the readings.
Amber Morrow, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and Stephen Nichols, brother of the bride, was bride’s best man.
Bride’s maids included Britney Mulvaney, cousin of the groom, Amanda Mashaw, cousin of the bride, Tosha Tharrett, friend of the couple, Juliann MacKay, friend of the bride, and Ashley Mills, friend of the couple. Junior bride’s maid was Isabell Griffith, friend of the bride.
Flower girls were Kaitlyn MacKay, cousin of the groom, and Claire Cross, cousin of the bride.
The groom’s best man was Joseph Hays Jr., brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were John Tuttle, cousin of the groom, Dylan Youngs, cousin of the groom, Dustin Webster, cousin of the bride, and Timothy Webster, cousin of the bride.
Other attendants included junior groomsman Matthew Morrow, cousin of the bride, and ring bearer Kaleb Webster, cousin of the bride.
A white tent was rented from Party Rentals in Watertown for the reception, and the decorations were done by the bride, her family and friends. The cake was made by the bride’s mother and the day was photographed by the groom’s cousin Amy Mulvaney and a friend, Christie Durham.
The honeymoon: will be taken in 2011.
The couple will reside in Gouverneur.
The bride graduated from Gouverneur High School in 2007 and is currently attending Jefferson Community College. She is a certified pharmacy technician at Kinney Drugs, Gouverneur.
The groom graduated from Gouverneur High School in 2006 and is a carpenter for Northland Associates based in Syracuse.
