Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” LeFever, 83, will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral. She passed away Wednesday afternoon at Riverledge Health Care Facility.
She is survived by six daughters, Kathy Richardson and her husband Fred of Tupper Lake, Paula Bresett and her husband Walter of Ogdensburg, Donna Morkis and her husband Allen of Lisbon, Sue Miller and her husband Steven of Waddington, Patty Bell and her companion Mark Montroy of Ogdensburg, and Tina Denny and her husband Gregory of Ogdensburg; a brother, Gene Bean and his wife Pat of Ogdensburg; a sister, Judy Robison and her husband Darryl of Parlo, Va.; close cousins Virginia O’Marah and Margerie Bean; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
LeFever was born August 9, 1928, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Albert and Helen Bone Bean. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1946.
She was married to James LeFever on September, 20 1947 at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Clarence Divan officiating. Mr. LeFever died in 2003.
She first went to work for St. Joseph’s Home then going to work at the St. Lawrence Psych Center. She went back to work at St. Joseph Nursing Home until she retired.
She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and her family. She loved playing bingo, knitting and crocheting.
