Mr. Brian O’Shea Sr., age 64, of Parishville, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his residence while under the care of his family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday, November 17th from 2-4 p.m. Graveside services for Mr. O’Shea will be held on Friday, at 1 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse, with Pastor Andy Reese celebrant.
Mr. O’Shea is survived by his wife, Thelma O’Shea; daughter Bridget O’Shea; sons Brian O’Shea Jr., Bryan O’Shea and Ryan O’Shea; grandchildren Matthew and Brandon O’Shea; sister in law Lois O’Shea; and a nephew James O’Shea.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Van Albert C. O’Shea who died November 1, 1974.
Mr. Brian O’Shea was born August 14, 1947 in Syracuse, to the late Hubert and Mary Smith O’Shea. Hubert passed on December 18, 1992 and Mary passed on October 26, 1985. He was a graduate of Jamesville Dewitt High School. Brian worked in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit for the University Hospital in Syracuse, for 23 years. After retiring, he moved to the North Country and went to work for the ARC where he drove bus for another 10 years. Brian was a loving father, a caring friend and a hospitable neighbor. A craftsman of the art, nature and life.
