COLTON—Graveside services for Eva “Vivian” Swift, 89, a resident of Hilltop Manor, Colton, and formerly of South Colton, will be held in the springtime in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Colton, with Rev. Joseph Giroux presiding. Vivian passed away early Saturday morning, March 11, 2023, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Vivian is survived by her son, Jerome T. Swift, Albany; a granddaughter, Teri Blair, Potsdam; a grandson, Francis Blair, Norwood; a grandson of the heart, Wayne Allen, Colton; a brother, Eugene and Donna Tucker, Dickinson and a sister, Josephine “Delight” French, North Bangor. Vivian was pre-deceased by her husband, John, a brother Richard Tucker and a sister Ellen Simmons.
Born in Pierrepont, NY, on October 23, 1933, to the late Neil Eugene and Inez Kio Tucker, Vivian attended Colton-Pierrepont Central School and married John E. Swift on November 8th, 1952. John later passed away on January 11, 2003. Vivian was a devoted homemaker and Christian, caring for her family, working on the family farm, and teaching Sunday School with her husband. Vivian enjoyed gardening, sewing, going for walks, doing puzzles, and spending time with her friends and family in her free time.
