Hammond man jailed after making threats, striking person with rock at Gouverneur Community Bank

GOUVERNEUR -- A Hammond man was jailed Jan. 24 after allegedly threatening another person with a knife and striking them in the head with a rock, according to Gouverneur police.

Shannon M. Boprey, 32, was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing, officers said.

Boprey was reportedly involved in a physical domestic in the parking lot of the Gouverneur Community Bank.

Officers said he allegedly forced the victim to remain in the parking lot by threat of physical force with a knife.

When the victim attempted to run Boprey grabbed the victim by the neck, officers said. He then allegedly bit the victim on the head and then struck the victim on the head with a rock.

Boprey then allegedly took the victim’s phone and broke it on the pavement.

He was arrested and arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
