A prayer service Mr. John R. Storrin, 57, of Tupper Lake, will be held Tuesday, July 19, at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam at 8:30 p.m.. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until the time of the Prayer Service.
An urn burial will be held at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Madrid.
Mr. Storrin died unexpectedly in his home in Tupper Lake on July 13, 2011. He is survived by his brother, Kevin Storrin and sister-in-law Debbie Storrin; two nephews, Brandon and Cody Storrin all of Newport News, Virginia; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Randall and Doris (Haney) Storrin Jr.
John Storrin was born March 7, 1954, in Canton, the son of Randall and Doris (Haney) Storrin, Jr. He was a 1972 Potsdam Central School graduate. He also graduated from Clarkson University in 1976 with a Bachelors Degree in Math and Physics.
Prior to returning to Tupper Lake in 1982, he worked as an Exploration geophysicist. He was employed as the Town Planner for Tupper Lake. Mr. Storrin was an avid animal lover and enjoyed the nature of the Adirondacks as well as riding his motorcycle.
