Gouverneur man charged following investigation of four-month old child with rectal injury

GOUVERNEUR -- A Gouverneur resident was charged with sexual abuse of an infant.

Xander E. Dowling, 20, was charged Oct. 26 with second-degree aggravated sexual abuse: Victim less than 11 years old, felony, officer said/

He was arrested stemming from an investigation of a four-month old child that sustained a rectal injury, police said.

He was ordered held on $5,000 of $10,000 bond, and then given a Dowling paid the $1,000 and was released with a return Gouverneur Town Court date.
