Enjoy STEM-TACULAR weekend at North Country Children's Museum

POTSDAM — Clarkson University’s Institute for STEM Education and Honors Program are hosting a STEM-TACULAR Weekend of drop-in activities for kids and families at the North Country Children’s Museum.

This special weekend event will occur on Saturday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The program is included with the cost of admission and membership and there is no need to pre-register.

For this special event, Clarkson Honors students and faculty will run special STEM activities throughout the museum’s program room and exhibit hall. Activities include: Building structures with toothpicks and marshmallows, solo cup stacking, straw rockets, constellation projectors, oil spill clean-up, and building popsicle stick houses.

Museum visitors will learn important STEM concepts such as building structures from a blueprint, physics, astronomy, engineering, environmental science, and problem solving.

All STEM activities will be fully interactive and hands-on.

The program is geared for children ages 12 and under and their families.

Clarkson's Institute for STEM Education supports the next generation of problem solvers in STEM. STEM Ed aims to establish Clarkson University as a national leader in student achievement, exemplary pedagogy, and K-12 outreach.

Clarkson supports America's future STEM workforce through their outreach initiatives like the STEM-TACULAR Weekend.
