Foster parent informational meeting planned Aug. 10 in Canton

CANTON — The St. Lawrence County DSS is hosting a Foster Parent Informational Meeting on Aug. 10, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services, 6 Judson St.

This meeting will provide people an opportunity to learn more about the foster care program in St. Lawrence County and ask any questions that they may have about becoming a foster parent.

The next MAPP/ GPS training classes to become a certified SLC DSS foster home is anticipated to start in September 2022.

Foster families provide short term or long term care to children who are unable to reside with their biological families for various reasons.
