CANTON — A Canton man is facing multiple felony charges stemming from an ongoing investigation and eventual arrest for illegal narcotic sales, police say.
On May 19 Keith J. McCauley, 36, of 5 State St. was arrested and found to be in possession of two handguns, one with it’s serial number removed, as well as an assault rifle, along with 160 gram of methamphetamine. [img_assist|nid=320140|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=142|height=220]
McCauley was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon: defaced firearm and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, possession of an assault rifle.
McCauley was arraigned in Canton town court and ordered held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.
Additional charges may be pending as a result of the incident, police say.
