Opinion: Foley Smith would bring valuable experience to Canton Town Board

I am writing in support of Martha Foley Smith, a Democratic candidate for Town Council in the Village of Canton. I have known Martha for many years as a friend and through her work with North Country Public Radio. She is smart, thoughtful, and has a keen sense of fairness and a great" let's get it done" approach to tasks at hand.

As a local business owner, (with her husband Everett) she understands the small town struggles and pitfalls of hard work and dedication. Her experience as a reporter brings a sense of political understanding and has the ability to bring a fresh perspective to the issues.

I believe Martha would bring valuable experience as a contributing member of the Canton community, given her long time residency, education, and solid relationships here. I strongly urge you to consider Martha Foley Smith as a great voice to address and advocate for the needs presented before the Town Council in the Village of Canton.
