I’m getting really tired of people suggesting that area businesses and schools cut positions to save money, such as the person who suggested cutting a principal from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. I could see lowering the salaries a bit for all three principals, or maybe putting a salary cap on them, but I personally have a hard time stomaching getting rid of a position completely. Did you ever stop to think that this is a person who probably has a family and mouths to feed rather than just a position? I am a recent victim of “funding cuts” myself, I cannot even begin to convey how much stress this has put on my family and I, especially given that I was the primary bread-winner in our household. So before thinking of suggesting something like this, please take the time to think that it is a person in that position and of how that person’s life will be affected. Would you want someone to suggest they just completely get rid of your job?
