Funeral services for 78 year old Geraldine A. Rutley, 456 Ellis Road, Canton, and formerly of Norwood, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mrs. Rutley passed away early Thursday morning at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena.
Geraldine is survived by her three sons, Harvey of Canton, Craig of Canton and Harold and Tammy, Lisbon; her four daughters, Arlie Jean (Jerry) Powers, Russell, Amy Empey, Canton, Carla (Dan) Stockwell, Potsdam and Alice (Jerry) Dibble, Potsdam; ten grandchildren, Jason and Adam Powers, Jessica Empey, Jeremy and Taylor Dissottle, Derrick Culver, Rebecca Burns, Dustin and Austin Dibble and Sylvia Beneteau; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Cyrus Wells Mitchell, Potsdam; and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Francis and Donald Cyrus; and her sister, Rosalie Mae.
She was born in Stockholm on January 28, 1933 to the late Kenneth and Lena Lewis Cyrus. She married Leonard Rutley. She passed away in 1983. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making items with plastic canvas, doing puzzles and reading. She loved animals, especially her dog “Joey”.
