Cory Allen Bercume, 21, Potsdam

Our son, Cory Allen Bercume, “Mr. Smile”, born December 20, 1989 was tragically taken from our lives on April 18, 2011. His smile brought joy and happiness to everyone he touched, even if for a brief moment, you have a lasting memory of him. He was the ultimate son, friend, teammate and soul mate. He was avid in “LIFE.” He walked in and you just knew Cory was here.

He graduated in 2008 from Potsdam High School and he attended SUNY Canton where he was just finishing his degree in Criminal Justice. He had been employed at the Potsdam Ponderosa for the past six years. He was a member of the hockey and lacrosse teams at SUNY Canton.

Cory was predeceased by his grandmother, Pauline C. Bercume, and his cousin, Zachary M. Sherman.

He is survived by his father and mother, Sean and Jami Bercume; his brothers, Ryan and Jake Bercume; grandparents, Allen and Holly Baldwin and Gary Bercume; his aunts and uncles, Jesse and Kim Sherman, Scott Bercume, Chad and Tiffani Edmundson, Darren and Deborah Crews, and Peter and Kacee Baldwin; and his cousins, Josh, Nick and Amanda Sherman, Vanessa, Jason and Baily Sandstrom, Troy Carpenter, Roree and Rylee Baldwin and Cloe and Hailey Crews.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Garner Funeral Service from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY.
