Irene A. Dennicort, 82, Potsdam

Mrs. Irene A. Dennicort, age 82, of Potsdam, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, where she had been a resident since March 17, 2009.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Friday, April 22nd from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Service with Rev. Russell Clark officiating. Irene A. Dennicort was born July 6, 1928 in Dickinson, to the late Ernest and Hazel Johnson Cox. She attended St. Regis Falls Schools. On August 1, 1949 she was married to Wayne Dennicort.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Dennicort of Potsdam; her son and daughter in law, Philip and Nancy Dennicort of Parishville; two brothers, Robert (Ann) Cox of Bangor, and Kenneth (Janet) Cox of Brushton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Wendell, Henry, Ernest Jr. and Curtis Cox; and her sisters, Rita Whitman, Ruth McElwain, Dorothy Clark and Korleen Boyce.

Irene enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
