Mrs. Patricia A. Huddleston, 79, of Laurel Terrace, passed away on Saturday morning, February 5, 2011 at the Massena Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted from the St. Regis Nursing Home.
Patricia was born April 2, 1931 in Massena, the daughter of Roy M. and Wilma Bombard French. She graduated from Massena Central School. Patricia worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Division of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse in Ogdensburg from July 1978 until her retirement in February 1993. As a young child, she sang as “Little Patsy” with Charlie Haley’s Yodeling Cowboy on WMSA Radio. She was an avid bowler, having belonged to many leagues and was a member of the “500 Club”. Patricia was an animal lover, especially Siamese cats and enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She loved listening to Patsy Cline music.
She is survived by her four children, Patrick French of Massena, April and Bill Osoway of Brasher Falls, Jody Huddleston of Massena, and Tracy Huddleston and her fiancé, Craig Brannen of Massena; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Lindsay, Courtney, Carey, William, Jason, Marlene, Melissa, Jaclyn, and Jolene; seven great grandchildren; and her brother, Gordon French and his wife, Lillian.
Patricia was predeceased by four sisters, Betty Dunn, Evalena Leith, Audrey Podgurski, and Norma Haley.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 12th from 12 noon until 2:00 PM at the VFW on West Hatfield Street, Massena. Burial will be in the spring at Sunnyside Cemetery, Brushton. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
