Corinne Crump, 83, Brasher, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 21, 2010 at Massena Memorial Hospital. For the past month Corinne has been a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home. Formerly, she lived at the LBSH Housing in Brasher.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop.
She was born August 12, 1927 in Brushton, the daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Barlow) Burnett.
After being educated locally, she married Francis L. Crump on January 22, 1945 at St. Mary's Church. He predeceased her on February 3, 1977.
During World War II, she was an airplane spotter. The majority of her life she was a dedicated homemaker. After 10 years of service, she retired from the St. Lawrence County Nutrition Center, Brasher, where she helped prepare and deliver meals.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Carol of Winthrop, David and Susan of Potsdam, Rex and Rebecca, Brasher, John and Veronica Brasher Falls; her companion, Donald Perry; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Corinne found peace and relaxation knitting and crocheting. She found great enjoyment collecting frog memorabilia.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Brasher.
If one chooses to do so, memorial contributions in honor of Corinne may be made to the Tri-Town Volunteer Rescue Squad or to St. Patrick's Church, Brasher.
There will be no public calling hours for Corinne. However, a graveside service will be held in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery, Brushton.
