Funeral services for Frances E. Silvernell, age 86, a resident of the United Helpers Nursing Home and formerly of Parkview Rise in Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday (Oct 30, 2010) at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church on Riverside Drive in Ogdensburg with Pastors Scott Daby and Reggie Curtis co-officiating.
Mrs. Silvernell passed away on Sunday (Oct 24, 2010) at the United Helpers Nursing Home. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her daughter Winnie Silvernell of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Margaret Phillips and Irene Manchester of Harrisville; three grandchildren, Daniel Gotham of Ogdensburg, Julie Gotham of Potsdam, and Denise Davis of Raymondville; great-grandchildren Nicole Gotham, Stacey Gotham, Talia Foster, Kylie Gotham, Brandon LaRock, Brandy LaRock, Dustin Gotham, Marshall Davis and Deanne Gotham; along with great-great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Casper and Glenn LaCross predeceased her.
Frances was born on October 16, 1924 in the town of Fine, a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Myers) LaCross. She attended East Pitcairn Rural School and Harrisville High School for her education. She married Charles Silvernell on October 25, 1942 in the town of Edwards. He predeceased her in 1981.
She was a member of the Grace Covenant Church in Ogdensburg and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and her collectables. She was very caring of others, and always brightened someone’s day with a greeting card.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been requested to the Grace Covenant Church, Riverside Drive, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
