Memorial services for 78 year old Mary J. Emburey of the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg and formerly of Norwood, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Emburey passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 5 at the Nursing Home.
Mary is survived by a son, Stephen, Laurel, MD; a daughter, Sally Emburey and her husband David McGill, Ellicott City, MD; her three grandchildren, Stephanie Emburey, Ellicott City, MD, Rebecca Emburey, L.A., California and Stacy Emburey, Brooklyn; and two sisters, Esther Charlebois, Potsdam and Mrs. Laura Maurice Fullerton, Norwood. She was predeceased by her sister, Thena Trimboli.
Born in Raymondville on October 12, 1931 she was the daughter to the late Roy and Ida Munson Grandy. She married Neil W. Emburey on August 18, 1951 at the Episcopal Church in Norwood. She worked as a teller at the St. Lawrence National Bank in Norwood and Norfolk.
She lived in the North Country her entire life, but loved to travel to Maryland to visit her children and granddaughters. She was a big Yankee fan (Jeter especially), and enjoyed shopping and visiting with friends. Mary enjoyed listening to Elvis and Tennessee Ernie Ford. Mary was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Norwood. Memorial donations can be made to the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.
