HAILESBORO -- William L. “Bill” McIntyre, 60, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
Calling hours are Sunday, March 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, with Rev. Gregory Bailey, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Gouverneur, officiating. A reception will follow at the American Legion in Gouverneur.
Bill was born May 1, 1950 in Gouverneur, the son of William and Myrtle Roberts McIntyre.
He attended Gouverneur schools and worked several years in construction.
He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting, fishing, trapping, bowling, and playing softball.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joanne; three daughters, Billie Jo and Michael Bresett of Rossie, Amy McIntyre and her companion Daniel Mortenson of Rochester, and Melinda McIntyre and her companion Ricky Stowell of Gouverneur; a son, Jonathan McIntyre and his companion Brandy Johnson of Rossie; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Garnet McIntyre of Virginia and Gary McIntyre of Gouverneur; a sister, Sandy Closs of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Lorne McIntyre and a sister Dorothy Macauley.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gouverneur Volunteer Rescue Squad.
