Funeral services for William “Joe” LaLonde, age 63, of 906 South Water Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. LaLonde passed away on January 8, 2012 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. LaLonde is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; his mother, Beatrice LaLonde of Ogdensburg; two daughters, Abby Ashley of Ogdensburg and Amy Patterson and her husband Mario of Black Lake; two sons, William Joe LaLonde IV and his companion Dawn Ellis of Ogdensburg and Leo LaLonde of Black Lake; one step daughter, Angie Ray Costigan and her husband Andy of Ogdensburg; four sisters, Mary Aldrich of Ogdensburg, Pauline (Sue) Durrand of Potsdam, Linda Compo and her companion Lester Duvall of Ogdensburg and Rose Marie Staley and her companion Paul Brown of Ogdensburg; two brothers, Leo LaLonde and his wife Donna of Ogdensburg and James LaLonde and his wife Pam of Madrid; four grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Leo LaLonde in 1975.
Mr. LaLonde was born on June 14, 1948 in Gouverneur, the son of Leo and Beatrice Lashua LaLonde. He attended Lisbon Central School. He married Mary Jane Gagnon of April 10, 1976 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked all his life as a tree cutter with Arnold Colton.
Mr. LaLonde was a member of The Sons of the VFW and the Amvets.
