Funeral services for William F. Tupper, age 74, of Margaret Dr,. Ogdensburg will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Tupper passed away Saturday morning at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Mr. Tupper is survived by his wife, Keitha; one son, William, Jr. and Christine Tupper of Ogdensburg; one daughter, Kimberly Tupper-Linn and her husband, Thomas, of Safety Harbor, FL; one sister, Diane Courtney, of Ogdensburg; one brother, Terry Tupper and his wife, Margaret, of Ogdensburg; two grandchildren, Jordyn Tupper of Ogdensburg and Chase Linn of Safety Harbor, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born January 3, 1937 in Ogdensburg, the son of Stillman and Frances McCaffrey Tupper. He graduated from OFA in 1954. He married Keitha E. Hilborne on June 30, 1956 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau officiating. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957 where he was an Electrician Mate Second Class. Upon leaving the Navy, Mr. Tupper went to work for the St. Lawrence Seaway Project. In 1962 he began working for Diamond National and continued to work until 1978 when the plant closed. He then went to work for Central Foundry in Massena from 1978 to 1995 and retired from the Fisher Guide Plant in Syracuse. After his retirement, he and Mrs. Tupper moved back to Ogdensburg.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, ham radios, photography, surfing the net on his computer and riding his red scooter around town.
