Warnetta N. Gowing, 75, Potsdam

Funeral service for Warnetta N. Gowing, 75, of Potsdam, will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam with Rev. Edwin Wright, officiating. Warnetta passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital following a motor vehicle accident.

Surviving Warnetta are five children, Gary Gowing and wife Lorraine of Colton, Karen Gowing-Benny and husband Walter of Huachuca City, AZ, Kathy Gowing-Goolden of Sterling, Steven Gowing and wife Stacy of Spring Creek, NV and Debbie Dow and husband Andrew of Potsdam; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several brothers and sisters; and beloved friends Danielle LaRue and family of Hermon.

Warnetta was born February 14, 1936, daughter of the late Clyde and Bernice Johnson. She is the ex-wife of Frank Gowing. She was an air traffic controller in the U.S Marine Corp. Warnetta attended Canton ATC and was a retired Registered Nurse.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the P.U.S.H 4 Gowing charity, 261 Country Club Parkway, Spring Creek, NV 89815, to help support her two grandchildren who are battling leukemia.
