OGDENSBURG – A Funeral Mass for Walter F. Corrice, 68, of Grant Street will be held on Wednesday (Aug 4, 2010) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph A. Morgan celebrating.
Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Mr. Corrice passed away at his home Saturday (July 31, 2010) surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years Ann Corrice; two sons and their life partners Walter F. Corrice & Michael Emmons of Syracuse, Ted C. Corrice & John Chambers of Rochester; a sister Karen Briere of Florida, Sandra Luchetti & her husband Harry of Ogdensburg; a brother Alfred Corrice & his wife Janice of Port Lyden; a sister-in-law Marguerite Barney of Ogdensburg and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Two sisters Judy Putnam & Emily Howard and a brother Charles Corrice predeceased him.
Walter was born on January 10, 1942 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Alfred & Harriett (Rushlow) Corrice.
He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and married Barbara “Ann” (LaVenture) Corrice on May 26, 1962 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Kevin Connors as the celebrant.
He worked 35 years at Acco Brands as a machinist and retired in 1996 due to ill health.
He was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Mary’s Cathedral where he was an active parishioner and alter server, and a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus in which he was honored “Knight of the Year in 2000”.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends.
Memorial contributions have been requested to the St. Mary’s Cathedral Capital Campaign or Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
