Vella E. Richey Jr., (Vic) passed away suddenly, December 16, 2011, at 64 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jane A. Richey; daughter, Michelle (Christopher) Shaw; son, Chad (Jennifer) Richey; his adoring grandchildren, Austin, Brendyn and Gianna Shaw and Autumn Richey; sister, Gerri (Jerry) Layo; brother-in-law, James Barkley; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dearest friend, Lenny Luce and his faithful companion Cassie.
He was predeceased by his father, Vella E. Sr.; mother, Theresa; and brother, Harold all of Massena.
He retired from GM after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Conservation Club of Brockport and Rochester Bass Masters.
A memorial calling hours will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 2:30-5:30 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Memorial Service will follow at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust, 180 Linden Oaks, Suite 200, Rochester, NY 14625 to benefit Rotary Sunshine Camp.
