Funeral services for Ulla H. Sharlow, age 65, of Ogdensburg will be held on Thursday (July 21, 2011) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 9-9:30 a.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. Sharlow died Monday (July 18, 2011) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving is his wife, Carol; two daughters, Andrea Dalton and her husband Paul of Ogdensburg and Amanda Sharlow of Ogdensburg; his mother, Carol Sharlow of Parishville; two brothers, Dale Sharlow and his wife Patty of Nicholville, and Arnold Sharlow and his wife Gail of Crary Mills; three grandchildren, Dave, Jennie and Joseph Dalton; a god child, Angela Popple; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ulla was born on December 30, 1945 in Potsdam, a son of Bernard and Carol (Weller) Sharlow. He attended Canton High School for his education. He married Carol J. Beckstead on July 1, 1967 at the Madrid United Methodist Church and enlisted in the US Army from 1968 – 1970.
Throughout his career he worked counter sales for auto part suppliers which included R & M Auto, Roethel’s and most recently Gillee’s Auto Parts. He enjoyed carpentry, collecting Elvis memorabilia, playing his guitar, watch his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family.
