ST. PETERSBURG, FL — It is with great sadness the family of Tim Cleland of Saint Petersburg FL (formerly of Ogdensburg NY) announce his passing on February 5,2023 after a short illness.
Tim was born in Ogdensburg NY to Merlin and Phyllis Cleland and attended local schools. After graduating from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1973 he attended Potsdam State University.
He obtained his Bachelor's degree in 1977 and relocated to Boston Massachusetts.
He worked in the financial/retirement planning industry- retiring from Franklin Templeton in Saint Petersburg FL in 2019.
He is survived by his brother David of Fulton NY, sister Janet of Saint Petersburg FL and brother Paul of Valatie NY.
He was predeceased by his mother ,Phyllis and father, Merlin.
He was an exceptional brother, friend and mentor and the world will be a smaller and quieter place for his loss.
He enjoyed a good laugh, talking about geneology,history, politics and current events. He seldom met a stranger he didn’t want to converse with.
In his memory, please take a moment every day to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the absurdities of life that happen all day,every day around us.
Arrangements are being made by Sorenson Funeral Home of Saint Petersburg FL.
