MASSENA -- Terry E. Favreau, age 47, unexpectedly passed away early Tuesday morning (February 20, 2018) at Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by his devoted family.
Terry was born to Clarence and Kathleen (Kimmel) Favreau on December 31, 1970 in Massena, NY. He graduated from Massena Central High School in 1989. He married the love of his life, Rachel Lucas on August 15, 1992 at St. Mary's Church in Massena and they recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. He soon thereafter secured his career with the Massena Dept. of Public Works working nearly 19 years with a solid crew of professionals.
Terry is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughter Ashley of Massena; son Hunter J. and fiancée Leanne of Vermontville; grandson Madden Lipinsky of Massena; his mother, Kathleen and husband Richard Shippey of Massena; a brother, Bill and wife Michelle Favreau of Massena; along with a niece, Grace; nephew, Shane of Massena; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Terry was predeceased by his father, Clarence; a sister, Melissa; a nephew, Nicolas; and mother-in-law, Kathi Lucas of Massena.
Terry worked hard and played harder. With friends and family he enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and the many camping trips. He particularly enjoyed participating in the “Tour de Barnhart” with many of his friends. Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and son-in-law, a mentor and faithful servant. He was also a member of the CSEA St. Lawrence County Local 845 and Village of Massena DPW Unit 8407 where he truly enjoyed the work he did, and especially the cherished moments shared with family and friends.
Friends and family are welcome to call at Phillips Memorial Home, Massena on Sunday (February 25, 2018) afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday (February 26, 2018) at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred officiating.
