Funeral services for Stephen G. Woods, age 70, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ogdensburg. Calling hours will be held on Thursday December 29th, at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Woods passed away on December 25, 2011 at his home following an illness under the loving care of his family.

Mr. Woods is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and his wife, Marie, of Ogdensburg, and Matthew and his companion, David Sullivan, of Boston, MA; a daughter, Jeanine and her husband, Timothy McLellan, of Ogdensburg; and four grandchildren, Nathan Woods, and Emily, Timothy and Gunnar McLellan.

Mr. Woods was born on May 15, 1941 in Ogdensburg, the son of F. Wayne and Ruth Skelly Woods. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1959. He graduated from Canton College with a degree in electrical engineering. He married Donna DenBleyker on September 14, 1963 at St. Matthew’s Church in E. Syracuse with Rev. James K. Bennett officiating. Mrs. Woods passed away on April 5, 2000. Upon graduation from college, Mr. Woods ran S.G. Woods Services doing electrical work. He later worked for Skelly Contractors for over 30 years working until the time of his illness.

Mr. Woods loved spending time watching the ships on the river from the home that he and his wife built together. He enjoyed gardening when his wife was alive.
