Funeral services for Shirley T. Ploof, 74, formerly of Forrest Place, Massena will be held on Thursday July 15, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena with speaker Bill Jones presiding.
Friends and family may be received on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St. Massena. Interment will be in Louisville Community Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Shirley passed away July 12, 2010 at the Highland Nursing Home.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Ploof of Massena, and Nancy Ploof of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Mrs. Scott (Mandy) Swart of Massena, and Kyle Smith of Naples, FL; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gary (Edie) Wright of Massena, and Mrs. Norman (Mary) Brais of Clay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Drummond.
Born May 2, 1936 in Massena she was the daughter of Harry and Jennie (Trimm) Tredo. A marriage to Loren Ploof ended in divorce. She was employed as a secretary at UHall and Richand during the Seaway Construction and at Boyce Motor Sales as a Service Manager. She later worked for Lincoln-Mercury as a Service Manager. She enjoyed going to garage sales, and loved horses.
