Shirley A. Martin, age 90, formerly of St. Regis Falls, and currently residing at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home, Malone, where she had been a resident since October 25, 2010.
Shirley was born on February 7, 1921 in Seymour, CT the daughter of the late Adolph and Mae (Clark) Sauer. She graduated school in Connecticut. She went to work for Iona Manufacturing in Manchester, Ct. and retired in 1983. She was united in marriage to Elmer Francis Martin in Connecticut.
In her free time, Mrs. Martin enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, which she did as a caterer in Ct. and traveling having spent her summers on the shore.
Shirley is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and William Beyer of Moira, and Ann Marquess of Moira; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Karen Martin of Malone; sisters, Alberta Lowe of Orange, CT and Diane Smith of NJ; a brother, Richard Sauer of FL; grandchildren, Justin Walker, Rebecca Marquess, Melissa, Joseph and William Beyers and Hailey Martin; and great-grandchildren, Zander Drumm, Alivia Sauer, Jordan and Rylan Walker.
Besides her husband and parents, Shirley was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Machowski and Thelma Sauer; and brothers Adolph Sauer, Jr., Donald Sauer and Frederick Sauer.
