Funeral service for Sheryle “Sherry” L. Bushaw, 60, of Canton will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. William Hart, officiating. Sherry passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving Sherry are her husband, Gary Bushaw of Canton; a son, Dean Bigwarfe Jr. and wife Tammy of Newtown, CT; mother, Betty Dana of Dekalb; three brothers, Dennis Dana and wife Marlene of Oswegatchie, Ronnie Dana and wife Esther of Russell and Richard Dana and wife Edna of Canton; granddaughters Hanna, Chloe and Tessa; two step-children, Michelle Bushaw Doorey and husband Kris of Morrisonville, and Michael Bushaw of Buffalo; and step-grandchildren Ave and Brady.
She was predeceased by her father, Raymond; and by a brother, Douglas.
Sherry was born on August 11, 1950 in Potsdam, the daughter of Raymond and Betty (Hull) Dana. She graduated from Knox-Memorial Central School in Russell, class of 1968 where she was the head majorette of the marching band. Later she attended Canton ATC. She worked at Mitel Corporation in Ogdensburg as an Assistant Purchasing Agent for 19 years, until they cutback operations in 2000. She then worked for Kraft Food in the purchasing department and sever years for Empire Vision in Potsdam as an optician’s assistant.
On August 11, 2001 she was married to Gary Bushaw at the Canton United Methodist Church. A prior marriage ended in divorce. Sherry enjoyed her friends and family, reading, walking, jazzercise, golfing, traveling, shopping and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the south during the winter months.
