Sharon has lived in Russell for the past 25 years. She had previously lived in Degrasse, Oklahoma and Florida. She had worked for the Charlebois Nursing Home in Potsdam for a brief time before her illness.
She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Meilleur of Russell; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brad Catton of Cadyville; her brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Ellen Meilleur of Russell; by her grandson, Logan W. Catton; and her nieces and nephews.
What stood out for Sharon was her happy and cheerful attitude with life, even though hers was a difficult one. She was well known for her interior decorating skills and kept a wonderfully adorned apartment. Sharon was a great cook, being famous for her “greasy beans”, mac – n – cheese, and others. She enjoyed her time on her computer where she kept in touch with family and friends, and did her shopping. Her computer gave her a link to the rest of the world.
Some lives go on forever in the hearts and lives they touch. Sharon’s choice was to be a Gift of Sight Donor. Someone, somewhere will actually see life through her beautiful eyes through her gift. She is a true hero.
