WILSON HILL – Sara Jane (Brannen) Martin, 82, of River Drive, passed away Sunday morning, March 19, 2023, at Massena Hospital.
Jane was born on August 26, 1940, in Massena, the daughter of the late Edgar and Dorina M. (Dufresne) Parisian, and attended Massena schools. On September 27, 1958, she married Walter “Wally” Brannen at St. Mary’s Church in Massena. He predeceased her on December 5, 1993. She found love again, marrying James H. Martin in 2006 at St. Lawrence Church, Louisville. He sadly predeceased her on April 3, 2018.
Jane worked for a time at the Village Inn Restaurant and Schwartz Furniture before becoming the office manager for Dr. David Zyzik, where she remained until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing winters in Florida and summers on the St. Lawrence River with her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Wanda Flynn and Dureen “DeeDee” and Gary LaDuke, all of Louisville; her grandchildren, Corey Flynn (Charlotte Phippen), Jenilee (Joe) Terminelli, and Vanessa (Evan) Raymo; and her great-grandchildren, Owen Flynn, Joey and Adam Terminelli, Grayson and Flynn Raymo.
She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Ellen (Richard) Briggs of Florida; Patsy (Gary) Henry of Massena; Emily (Tony) Diagostino of Massena; Christine (Jim) Farrell of Colorado; Joan (Bill) McGrath of Connecticut; her brothers, Joseph “Go Go” (Connie) Parisian of Dexter; Hugh “Butch” (Kathy) Parisian of Massena; James (Susie) Parisian of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was predeceased by her sister, Dawn Lavigne, on December 31, 2009, and a brother, George Parisian, on March 25, 1995.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. At her request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be held later in the spring in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions in her memory to the American Heart Association.
