Ruth C. Bullock, 79, of Edwards, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her daughter, Susan’s home in Russell under the care of her family and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
Ruth C. Bullock was born on July 18, 1932 in Lisbon, to the late Stanley and Doris (Stephenson) LaRock. She attended school in Lisbon and graduated from Ogdensburg School.
Ruth married James R. Bullock on March 17, 1952 in Edwards. Together the couple ran the family dairy farm in Edwards for 60 years. She and her husband also did foster care for 25 years and also raised AKC registered German Sheppard dogs for many years. James passed away on August 7, 2011.
Ruth used to play guitar and fiddle and sang in a country band. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and loved her vegetable and flower garden.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Robert E. Bullock and the mothers of his children Tammy Hubbard and Valerie English and James Dale and Kathleen Bullock all of Edwards; two daughters, Susan M. and Howard Paige of Russell and Cynthia D. Bullock and her fiancé Wallace Moore of Hermon; two brothers, Harold LaRock and Glen LaRock both of Lisbon; a sister, Joan Donaldson of Lisbon; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James R. Bullock; a brother, Ivan LaRock; and four sisters, Jean Storie, Shirley Hughes, Linda Donnelley and Elaine LaRock.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Her funeral service will be at the Edwards United Methodist Church on Monday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards.
