Ronald W. Sanderson, 65, of Rowen Road, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home.
Funeral mass will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Philips and James Church in Lisbon with Rev. Jay Seymour, celebrating. Burial will be in the Morley Cemetery.
Friends may call at the O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Morley Cemetery Association.
Ronald was born on June 27, 1945 at home in Morley, the son of George B. and Hilda (Winters) Sanderson. He graduated from Canton High School in 1964 and from Canton ATI in 1966 with a degree in business. Ronald married Louise Jordan on July 16, 1966 at St. Phillips and James Church, Lisbon with Monsignor William LaValle, officiating.
He was employed by ACME, Great American and P&C Markets as a meat cutter. He served in the National Guard and the Army reserves for 28 years. He was a member of the Lisbon Town Board, Lisbon Planning Board, Morley Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion, Democratic Committeeman, and an active member of the Morley Cemetery Association.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Louise of Lisbon; three daughters, Tracy LaFlair and her husband Chris, Sarah Belile and her husband Joe and Jaime Lopez and her husband Drew all of Ogdensburg; six grandchildren, Lexi and Luc LaFlair, Walker and Sawyer Belile, Harry Powers and Lauren Lopez; his sisters, Mabel Harwood of Massena, Shirley Dafoe of Morley, and Myrna Doud and her husband Ray of Colton; and by brothers, Lloyd Sanderson of Rota, Spain and Howard Sanderson and wife Rita of Morley.
He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Iovine.
Ronald enjoyed his lawn, cutting wood and his family. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
