Mr. Ronald J. Lauzon, 62, of 620 Frye Road, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at his home.
He was born July 18, 1948 in Fort Covington, the son of Joseph and Hazel Martin Lauzon. He graduated from Salmon River Central School in 1968. After graduation, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 31, 1979, he married Sandra R. Aldrich at their home in Fort Covington.
Ron was a self employed heavy equipment owner and operator. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1418 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Covington. He enjoyed playing volleyball, going to the casino and was an avid collector.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Aaron and Neal Lauzon, both of Fort Covington; a daughter, Chastity Hart of North Carolina; 14 siblings, Donald and Martha Lauzon of North Tonawanda, Philip and Sylvia Lauzon of Fort Covington, Joseph Lauzon and Eloise Massaro of Fort Covington, Margaret Willis of Greenfield, ME, Robert and Anne Lauzon of St. Regis Falls, Janet and John Malark of Burke, Helen and Phillip Burl of Fort Covington, Roger and Trudy Lauzon of Fort Covington, Carl and Mona Lauzon of Fort Covington, Harold and Emily Lauzon of Bombay, Michael and Kathleen Lauzon of Fort Covington, Paul and Darlene Lauzon of Fort Covington, Rita Lauzon and Jim Yeddo of Chateauguay and Ann Lauzon of Schenectady; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Almond; and a brother, Gerald Lauzon.
Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fort Covington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Martin E. Cline, pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Covington. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
