Roger E. (Red) Aiken, 79, Parishville, passed away while visiting his family in Tennessee.
Roger Aiken was born in Parishville, New York, the son of the late Albon and Mary Haight Aiken and nephew of the late Maleta Haight (Potter).
He is survived by his wife Alice of 57 years, a daughter, Brenda Aiken Sweeney (Jim Sweeney), a son, Shawn Aiken (Marti Aiken), two granddaughters, Jenna and Allie Aiken, a sister, Audrey Groebler (Eugene Groebler), a step-granddaughter, Heather Smith (Matt Smith), a step-grandson, Jamie Sweeney (Lorenda Sweeney), and many nieces and nephews, and five step-great grandchildren.
Roger served four years in the US Navy and was a graduate from Canton Agricultural Technical Institute. He was retired Field Supervisor for Crowley Foods in LaFargeville, New York. Roger was a 55 year Mason of Amber Lodge #395.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Parishville, NY.
