Robert J. “BIGBOB” Mossow, 66, of 11 1/2 Spruce Street, Massena, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 13, in the Emergency Room at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born February 21, 1946, in Massena, the son of Emery “Hank” and Edna Poirier Mossow. He graduated from Madrid - Waddington High School. He married Florence Kerr which later ended in a divorce.
Robert first worked in Syracuse. After returning home, he mowed and took care of many lawns until he became physically disabled. He was currently employed as a maintenance man with Northstar Industries in Malone. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 26 years. Robert enjoyed the Frogtown Race Track and NASCAR. He loved animals, collecting ceramic ducks, and the outdoors.
Robert is survived by a son, Joseph Mossow of Massena; a brother, David of Syracuse; a nephew, Shawn Mossow of Norfolk; an Aunt, Pearl Felix of Stockholm; and his precious cat “Patches”.
Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, on Monday from 10-11 a.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
