Robert E. Keller, 69, of Parker Street died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse where he was a patient.
Born March 26, 1941 in Gouverneur, he was the son of the late George H.S. and Elgreta LaDuke Keller, and graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1961. Mr. Keller served in the United States Air Force in the early 1960’s. He married Sandra Gillette on October 26, 1963.
Mr. Keller was employed for Fort Worth Public Schools, Fort Worth, TX, Kraft in Canton, and with New York Central (Pen Central, Conrail) Railroad in Gouverneur for over 19 years. He enjoyed playing sports when he was younger, camping, fishing and boating.
Survivors besides his wife of 48 years are a daughter and her husband, Kathlene and Martin McIntosh, Gouverneur; three grandchildren, Tara McIntosh and her fiancée, Anthony Nichols, Harrisville, Eliza Zehr and her husband, Lonnie, Carthage, and Robert McIntosh, Gouverneur; a brother and his wife, Gary and Cheryl Keller, Ogdensburg; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Eudora Brown, and Darlene and John Hastings, all of Gouverneur.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Lorinda and Glenda; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Brown and Donald Gillette.
A private family service was already held. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa.
