Richard L. Langevin, 60, formerly of Massena

A funeral mass for Richard L. Langevin, 60 of South Gatewood Dr. Bloomington, Indiana will be held on Wednesday (January 19, 2011) at 12:00 noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Father Donald J. Manfred celebrant and Father J. Michael Gaffney concelebrant. Richard died at the home of his sister Debra of Talcott Street, Massena Friday evening, January 14, 2011. Friends and family may call Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Interment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

Surviving Richard are his parents, Simeon and M. Ruth Langevin of Massena; a brother, Philip R. and his wife Joanne of Lake Orion, Michigan; a sister, Debra Langevin of Massena; three nephews, Steven Kormanyos Jr. and his fiancee Ali Daoust of Brasher, Christian Kormanyos of Massena and Nicholas Kormanyos of Columbus, Ohio; two nieces, Lori Langevin Brown and her husband Donald of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Angela Langevin Christiansen and her husband David of Ypsilanti, Michigan; six great-nieces and nephews Steven J. Kormanyos III, Samantha Jo Kormanyos of Massena, Dylan and Ava Brown of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Zachary and Matthew Christiansen of Ypsilanti, Michigan; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richard was born July 2, 1950 in Massena the son of Simeon and Madeline Canough Langevin. He graduated from Massena High School in 1969 where he was active in basketball and track . Richard served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict from 1969-1975. He worked as a die cast operator for General Motors in Bedford, Indiana. He was a member of the American Legion in Bloomington, Indiana. Richard also was a avid fisherman and enjoyed playing pool, foosball and spending time with his family.

Contributions may be made to Leukemia Society of America, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or Trinity Catholic School.
