Funeral services for Richard E. Kline, age 66, of Champlain Street, Ogdensburg will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Kline passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. Kline is survived by his wife, Geraldine; five children, Bruce Kline and his wife, Jeannine, of Beaufort, SC, Raelyn Kline, of Ogdensburg, Robert Kline of Plessis, NY, Karen Wert and her husband, Paul, of Lisbon, and Kevin Kline of Ogdensburg; five brothers, Michael of Binghamton, Thomas and his wife, Karen, of Binghamton, Theodore, of Ohio, Dennis, of Chicago, and David of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Pam Hrechko and her husband, Daniel and Julie Spisak and her husband, Larry, of Endwell, NY; and five grandsons, Dustin and Hayden Kline, Harrison and Griffin Wert and Brycen Hitsman. He was predeceased by one daughter, Melissa Anne; and one sister, Susan.
Mr. Kline was born in Watertown, NY on April 29, 1947, the son of Thomas and Anita Blanchard Kline. He attended St. Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. He married Geraldine O’Marah on November 7, 1969 in Ogdensburg. He worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Therapy Aide retiring in 2003.
Mr. Kline was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved the NY Yankees. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing with his brothers and his grandsons. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandsons. He was much loved and always enjoyed agitating and joking with his friends.
