Memorial services for Renee E. Small, 51, of East Ave. Massena will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery II, Norfolk. Friends and family are invited to call Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Renee died Sunday morning (March 20, 2011) surrounded by her family along with her close friends Pam Belile and Rachel Foster. Renee had been in failing health since July.
Surviving Renee is her husband, Robert; her mother, Ella Smith Simmons of Louisville; daughter Casey and her fiancé Scott Clark of Massena; her son, Dylan of Massena; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Casy and husband Ronald, Louisville, Timothy Smith of Fulton, Frances Roundy and husband George of Canastota, James Smith and wife Joan of Fulton, Donna Raspitha and husband Paul of Louisville, Terry Smith and wife Cindy of Syracuse, Kendra Smith and partner Tom Basmajian of Louisville, Charles Smith of Canastota, Robert Smith of Sacramento, CA, and Christine Lanning and husband Michael of Brandon, FL; her in-laws, Linda and husband Warren Chase, Jeffery and wife Michele Small both of Massena, and Randy and wife Linda Small of Liverpool; and nieces and nephews.
Renee was predeceased by a brother, Elwood; a sister, Vicki; and her father Elwood.
Renee graduated from Massena Central High School in 1977. Renee married Robert V. Small July 14,1990 in the Veterans Memorial Park, Massena. She worked as a bartender for over 20 years at the Bowlmar Lanes in Massena. Renee was an avid bowler and enjoyed brewing wine at home.
